James McComas (Dip HE, BA, MA, PGCE)
I offer one to one person centred counselling / psychotherapy to adults in person, via internet video or telephone.
I believe counselling works, not by ‘fixing’ people, but by supporting someone through their own truths and aiding them to trust and understand themselves. It is a safe space where a person can be truly listened to without judgement and understood by another who is not otherwise involved in their life. This creates a powerful experience which can lead to profound and lasting positive change.
I hold a higher national diploma in counselling and psychotherapy from the University of the Highlands and Islands. I am also a professional member of COSCA (Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland) and fully abide by its ethical framework and complaints procedure. I practice with up to date public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
I work with clients experiencing a variety of issues including low self esteem, depression, anxiety, trauma, bereavement, addictions and relationship difficulties. I work with my clients to help them understand themselves better; to Identify things that aren’t working in their lives and look at how these can be improved.
Together we explore the possibilities available to make life more worth living, and relationships with self and others more enriching.
